A multi-service academic platform with explicit domain boundaries, orchestration, a frontend, tests and Docker-based composition.
The problem
Systems with many workflows need clear service boundaries and contracts, without making the split into services an end in itself.
What was built
A service-oriented platform that separates authentication, grades, student requests, instructor responses and statistics, with matching orchestrators, a frontend and deployment files.
Technical approach
- Authentication handles login and registration
- Grade services retrieve and submit course results
- Request and response services coordinate the student and instructor workflows
- Statistics are retrieved and recalculated in a dedicated area
- Docker Compose joins the services and the frontend for development
Engineering decisions
- Define explicit responsibilities around domain workflows.
- Use orchestration components where several services must be coordinated.
- Document the structure with class, component, data, deployment and sequence diagrams.
- Do not publish an exact service count until the implemented topology has been counted.
How it was checked
- The repository has areas for auth, grades, requests, responses, statistics, orchestrators and the frontend.
- The architecture files include class, component, data, deployment and sequence diagrams.
- The domain entities include users, universities, lessons, courses, periods, grades, student requests, responses and statistics.
What it shows
Architectural decomposition with explicit responsibilities, interfaces, persistence and deployment structure.
About the source
Academic engineering project. The exact service count is deliberately withheld until the final topology has been verified.
